Employees are a big threat to an organisation's data security, according to a new report. The study by The Ponemon Institute found that staff regularly put sensitive information at risk, with 61 per cent downloading data onto their mobile devices. Almost half of workers share network passwords and 53 per cent download software from the internet onto their employers' devices, the IronKey-sponsored survey revealed. 'The Ponemon Institute believes these results show overall lack of urgency by companies on the need to address data security,' observed the firm's founder, Dr Larry Ponemon, in a blog post.
