With mobile computing advancing at a pace the focus has generally been on securing the devices. Nick Garlick, Managing Director, Nebulas Solutions Group, says that this is wrong and companies should focus on securing the data instead. The growth rate of mobile computing, underpinned by the proliferation of smart phones, BlackBerrys, public Wi-Fi hot spots and high speed internet access in homes, shows no signs of abating. Many enterprises have simply replaced desktop PCs with laptops, and USB flash drives are now standard for transferring large amounts of data such as presentations.
