A number of top online security experts have called on Google to explain why it is placing its users at risk of computer fraud by failing to incorporate the secure version of the HTTP protocol in its Gmail application. Under the existing system, the login names and passwords of Gmail users are encrypted using HTTPS when they sign in to their account.
